━━━━━━━━━━━ What is 'GARO'?  ━━━━━━━━━━━

'GARO' was first telecast in late night timeslots on Japanese TV in 2005. Since then, its dark and unique view of the world, stylish footages by taking full advantage of computer-generated graphics and VFX techniques as well as gorgeous and dynamic action scenes of this live-action TV series have become popular among others. A leading character, Kouga Saejima turns into a Golden knight GARO, and exterminate Makai beasts 'Horror' which eat human souls. Kouga's figure as a hero, superb characters designed by director Keita Amemiya, and overwhelming scenes of action using VFX techniques by Makoto Yokoyama, director in charge of action sequences have captured attention of many adults. To meet demand for those who love this franchise, following sequels have been produced so far: 'GARO Special (TV special program, 2006)', 'GARO the Movie 3D -- Red Requiem (theatrical feature film, 2010)', 'Kiba (spin-off title for video release, 2010)' and 'GARO Makaisenki (TV series, 2011)'. In February 2013, a new feature film 'GARO and the Wailing Dragon' was theatrically released and new TV series 'GARO TV3' started its telecast in April 2013 and enjoys its good ratings. Furthermore, as another feature film tentatively entitled 'The Secret Flute -GARO Side Story-' is scheduled for theatrical release in July 2013, it can be said that 'GARO' is one of the most successful VFX-driven live-action TV series produced ever in Japan, which now gets exposure to the fullest extent!
